12th Tai Situ Rinpoche

The present 12th Tai Situ Rinpoche, Pema Donyo Nyingche Wangpo, was born 1954 in Tibet from a family of peasant farmers.
He was recognized and enthroned by the 16th Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorje as the reincarnation of the last Situ Rinpoche. During the enthronement many high Lamas and representatives from Tibet and China were joined.

At the age of six years, for the political conditions and on the advice of the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa, he fled Tibet and later joined the Gyalwa Karmapa to live in Rumtek Monastery, Sikkim, India.


He received all the transmissions and pith instructions of the lineage from His Holiness 16th Gyalwa Karmapa, Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche, H.H. Dilgo Kyentse Rinpoche, Kalu Rinpoche, Saljay Rinpoche and Thrangu Rinpoche.
In 1980 he made his first tour to Europe, and has since traveled widely in North America, Europe and South-East Asia.
Tai Situ Rinpoche is His Holiness the 17th Karmapa's root Lama, which he enthroned at Tsurphu, Tibet, the main seat of the Karmapas.
He is author of several books and known as scholar, poet, calligrapher, artist, architect and geomancer.
As a Buddhist master, he regularly tours the world giving teachings and empowerments at the request of Buddhist Dharma Centres.
